Well, the title just about says it all, doesn’t it? A little over a week ago, I modeled my design in Design for a Cure. As you may remember, I designed and made the dress myself, with the help of my Mom and Grace! I hand beaded the bodice; it took me almost 6 weeks! The competition was alot of fun, being on the runway and having so many people see my work! I didn’t win, but it was a great experience! I know this is not Barbie related, but it is my design work, and I wanted to share it with you. Here is a picture of me modeling the dress on the runway:

As for Miss Merry Melody, now that Design for a Cure is out of the way, I can finally get some serious work done on Miss Merry Melody! I am on Fall Break right now, and have lots of time to sew! We are planning to hold the pageant on Monday. I’m working on my fourth design, and I have two completely finished. For my third design, I am painting the fabric, and I have to let it dry before I can work more on it. I am really excited about the designs I have completed so far, they are just what I had envisioned. Hooray for FINALLY FINALLY getting this pageant finished!

Rachel,
Your dress is beautiful and you look like you are having fun! How did it feel to be a real-live Barbie?
